A lesser known horror movie. "Laid To Rest" outstanding special effects and gore. And actually a really well put together movie. check it out

The Evil Dead trilogy is a pretty decent one...

Speaking of Evil Dead, I watched Drag Me To Hell the other day. It wasn't scary, but it was amazingly stupid with some gross out humor. So stupid it was funny.

Never cared as much for the rest of the Friday the Thirteenth series of movies much, I can however fully recomment both Jason vs Freddy and Jason X. Both are great horror/humor movies.
On that note, the original Nightmare On Elm Street was cool.
The remake of Dawn of the Dead, the parody, Shawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later are all three decent Zombie flicks.
Mostly I go for the old classics with such greats as Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Sr. and Lon Chaney Jr., Christopher Lee or Vincent Price.
Also, Anything by Hitchcock, Wes Craven or George Romero is usually gold.
Oh ... can't forget Anthony Hopkins in the movie Silence of the Lambs "I ate his liver with faba beans and a chilled chianti ... ftpftpftpftp"
